Inspired by the real-life story of Moisés Serrano, an openly undocumented and queer DACA recipient and activist, The Dreamer is a music video by Che Apalache that centers the lived experience of immigrant youth navigating identity, belonging, and systemic challenges in the American South. A collaborative effort with local North Carolina filmmakers and communities, the film weaves evocative performance and narrative imagery to honor those voices and advocate for immigrant rights with honesty and cinematic heart.
