Railroaded explores the impact of allowing big business to dictate recovery priorities after a natural disaster. Is shareholder value the only metric to be considered when rebuilding, even on public land?  

This 25-minute film follows a whitewater community after Hurricane Helene upended their lives, businesses, and a century long coexistence with a multi-billion-dollar railroad company. Anchored by strong, independent characters, the film unfolds along an idyllic stretch of the Nolichucky River where ecosystems are also at risk.  Railroaded explores the collision of economics, environmental stewardship, and regulatory oversight, and what happens when those tasked with protecting public land are forced to confront corporate power.
